Which Group Class Should you Enroll in?



All classes currently offered are for adults and teens who have completed 8th grade English grammar.


See below for details about beginning levels.

If you do not live in the area or cannot attend class in person, NO WORRIES! All lessons are recorded and sent to you so that you have access to materials and instruction. Note ALL classes will be offered virtually due to CDC recommendations for this autumn.



Which Class Should I Choose?





Community ASL



Community ASL - for those who do not know the manual alphabet and are completely new to signing. VIRTUAL classes meet on Mondays at 5:00 pm. - 6:00 pm. central. For those who cannot participate live, the lesson will be emailed to you.



ASL 101 Foundations



ASL Foundations - For those who can at least stumble through the manual alphabet but can't sign much else. If not, consider enrolling in Community ASL. Classes held VIRTUALLY on 6 specific Mondays from 8:00 pm. - 9:00 pm central. If you cannot participate live during that time, they are recorded and emailed to you so that you do not miss any instruction. Click on "Enroll Here" for further details.



ASL 101 Part 1



ASL 101 Part 1 - for those know the manual alphabet, can introduce themselves in sign, and can explain the difference between English and ASL. If not, consider enrolling in the Foundations class. Click "Enroll Here" for info about dates/times.



ASL 101 Part 2



ASL 101 Part 2- for those who can introduce their family in sign, know how to make the signs for PAST and FUTURE, and understand the premise of Deaf culture. If not, consider enrolling in Part 1. Click "Enroll Here" for info about dates/times.



ASL 101 Part 3



ASL 101 Part 3 - for those who understand what non-manual markers mean, can sign basic clothing, foods, time signs, and colors. If not, consider enrolling in the Part 2 class to keep you signing skills fresh. ​ ​Click "Enroll Here" for info about dates/times.



ASL 101 Part 4 and beyond



Contact us through this website if you feel you are beyond a Part 3 signing level. We'll work together to determine your starting point.



Policy



Class information will be sent to the email address you use to pay with PayPal.


Installment payments can be arranged. You will NOT be able to use the website to register so please use the "Contact Us" tab to let us know you will be enrolling by making partial payments. Information and details will be emailed to you.


Classes are for adults/teens who have complete 8th grade English grammar.


Pre-recorded lessons will be available for those who live out of the area or who cannot attend face-to-face classes.


Face-to-face classes are held in zipcode 38138 (Germantown, TN outside of Memphis)



Registration Deadline



Registration closes 24 hours prior to the 1st class. Paying online? Make payment via PayPal prior to the second class date. Not paying online? Send an email Need installments? Send an email If you do not wish to use PayPal, a check made and and mailed to ASLasl, PO Box 381467, Germantown, TN 38138 will suffice.  Upon receiving payment, you will be contacted with class information. So be sure to include in the envelope a text number or email address. 



Make-up Classes and Refunds



When enrolling, the student takes responsibility for class participation. Recordings of lesson and materials are either emailed to you are available to you on Google Classroom. Thus, make-up classes are not needed. If a student falls behind and wants a private session to catch up, please visit the page of this website regarding private individual instruction. Any refunds are offered on a case by case basis and are at the sole discretion of ASLasl.
