Which Group Class Should you Enroll in?



All classes currently offered are for adults and teens who have completed 8th grade English grammar.


See below for details about beginning levels.


*****Note****

ASL 101 Part 5 - Part 15 classes are reserved for students who have taken the previous ASL 101 class in the 101 series. Ex. Part 5 is for those who have completed Part 4, Part 6 is for those who have completed Part 5, etc....


ASL 101 Accumulation Class- this class is for those who have completed the Part 15 class.



Which Class Should I Choose?





Community ASL



Community ASL - for those who do not know the manual alphabet and are completely new to signing



ASL 101 Foundations



ASL Foundations - for those who can at least stumble through the manual alphabet but can't sign much else. If not, consider enrolling in Community ASL.



ASL 101 Part 1



ASL 101 Part 1 - for those know the manual alphabet, can introduce themselves in sign, and can explain the difference between English and ASL. If not, consider enrolling in the Foundations class.



ASL 101 Part 2



ASL 101 Part 2- for those who can introduce their family in sign, know how to make the signs for PAST and FUTURE, and understand the premise of Deaf culture. If not, consider enrolling in Part 1.



ASL 101 Part 3



ASL 101 Part 3 - for those who understand the concepts of spatial referents, noun/verb pairs, and the role that eyes play in ASL. If not, consider enrolling in Part 2. ​ ​



ASL 101 Part 4



ASL 101 Part 4- for those who understand how tense is shown in ASL and understand the role that the face and body play in ASL. If not, consider enrolling in Part 3. ​



Policy



1. Classes meet ONLINE via video conferencing due to COVID-19.  2. Class information will be sent to the email address you use to pay with PayPal. 3. Classes are for adults/teens who have complete 8th grade English grammar.



Registration Deadline



Registration closes 24 hours prior to the 1st class. Paying online? Make payment via PayPal prior to the second class date. Not paying online? Send an email Need installments? Send an email If you do not wish to use PayPal, a check made and and mailed to ASLasl, PO Box 381467, Germantown, TN 38138 will suffice.  Upon receiving payment, you will be contacted with class information. So be sure to include in the envelope a text number or email address. 



Make-up Classes and Refunds



When enrolling, the student takes responsibility for class participation. All class materials are emailed for students to view in their own time. Thus, make-up classes are rarely offered. If a student has missed and wants a private session to catch up with the rest of the class, please visit this page of the website for private individual instruction: Should class be cancelled at the fault of ASLasl, either make-up or refund will be offered. Refunds are offered on a case by case basis and are at the sole discretion of ASLasl.
